ROCHESTER - Have you played Powerball and gotten two numbers plus the Powerball?
If you have, you probably don't even remember. It's just a $7 winner.
But the odds are pretty tough: only 1 in 701.
But next Friday, Aug. 14, during the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Raffle Bash someone could win $10,000 in cash or a $15,000 Harley Davidson FXLR Low Rider, and the odds are better than twice that: 1 in 325, because only 325 $100 tickets are sold.
Most past winners since they added the cash option take the $10,000, but The Rochester Voice went out to the Harley Davidson dealership on Farmington Road on Thursday to see what a sweet ride this Low Rider Softtail is.
Born from the Harley Davidson Dyna Glide series, the FXLR is a sleek, belt driven, six-speed monster with 1768 ccs of power that only weighs around 650 pounds. She's easy to handle even for the ladies as Harley Davidson Assistant Sales Manager Sherry Knox will tell you.
She rides one, too, but she likes riding it even more at work, she said, cause she's getting paid, too.
She pointed out lots of features that are new on the bike like key fob ignition that cuts off the fuel once you're a short distance from the bike to frustrate would be thieves.
The bike also has an easy-adjust suspension system that allows you to change your ride with a twist of a special wrench that comes with the bike.
Even with all its power and brawn, this bike gets 47 miles to the gallon: cheap thrills for sure.
Knox said bike sales are booming down at the dealership.
"It lends itself to social distancing," she quipped.
Chamber President and CEO Laura Ring said today that there are only 41 Raffle Bash tickets left, so you'll have to move quickly if you want to enter.
Those purchasing tickets through the Chamber website or by contacting the office at 332-5020 will receive a $10 gift certificate to Granite Steak & Grill or Windjammer's Seafood Restaurant. Chamber Raffle tickets can also be bought at the two eateries to receive the $10 gift certificate.
Ring said tickets typically sell out before the day of the event, which will be held on a Facebook Live platform from 6-9 p.m. next Friday.
