CANTERBURY - A wrong-way driver on Interstate 93 was arrested for drunken driving and reckless conduct early Sunday.
Police got involved around 12:30 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of a wrong-way driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on I-93 between mile markers 41-44 in the city of Concord.
A short time later, a Trooper from Troop D barracks located the vehicle on I-93 at mile marker 45 in the town of Canterbury where he conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the lone operator.
After a roadside investigation, the operator, identified as Jose Galindo Mendoza, 45, of Canterbury.
Mendoza was charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, open container and operating without a valid license.
Mendoza was bailed on personal recognizance pending an appearance in Merrimack Superior Court next month.
