ROCHESTER - A woman traveling in a mobility scooter was fatally struck by a vehicle in the area of Kentucky Fried Chicken on Columbus Avenue on Friday.
The accident occurred around 1:55 p.m.
Police say the preliminary investigation indicated the woman was struck in the roadway by a vehicle traveling south on Columbus Avenue. The Strafford County Technical Accident Reconstruction Team was called to assist with the investigation, which shut down the roadway for about three hours.
Police are not releasing the names of those involved at this time pending notifications of next of kin. The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time while officers continue to gather witness statements and await the completion of an accident reconstruction team.
