SHAPLEIGH, Maine - A Springvale woman died on Sunday when the motorcycle she was a passenger on crashed on Emery Mills Road.
The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Witnesses told police the motorcycle was traveling north when it suddenly veered off the road onto a soft shoulder and into some trees.
The victim, Marisa Standly, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the 2019 Harley Davidson, Olaf Nordmann, 51, was transported to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.
An accident reconstructionist from York Police Department arrived to assist in the continuing investigation.
