It was maybe 50 years ago - yeah, some things you don't forget - when a friend of mine invited me up to his parents' Lake Winnipesaukee lake rental for a weekend of fun on the lake.
We had a great time swimming and fishing and motorboating around the lake with his parents and his four sisters before going to the arcade at The Weirs that Saturday night.
But in the middle of the night back at the cabin, nature called, and I had to strike out on my own for the cabin's lone bathroom next to the bedroom where his four sisters slept.
As I quietly did my business, I could hear the four girls, who ranged in age from 12 to 20 - say things about the boys they'd seen on the beach that day that would make a sailor blush, let alone a 14-year-old boy.
At the time I just chalked it up to life experience, learning that girls could be just as nasty, obscene and vulgar about body parts and sex as us guys. Tell you the truth, it was a little unnerving, me having previously thought the fairer sex was unable to be so carnally crass.
But today I realize not only did they shatter my perception of the feminine mystique, why, they're also unfit to be president.
