WELLS, Maine - A Wells man was arrested Monday on a charge of attempted murder for his role in a Saturday shooting incident in Wells.
Wells Police got involved Sunday around at 4:40 p.m. when they took a report of an incident involving a firearm that happened the previous evening at a residence on Littlefield Road. Based upon their investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Emanuel Diggs, 22, of Wells. The Wells Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service to help apprehend Diggs.
Through a joint effort from U.S. Marshals and Wells Police Department, investigators developed information that Diggs was still in Wells. The USMS Maine Violent Offender Task Force located Diggs and was able to apprehend him safely at a nearby gas station. According to the Wells Police Department, more charges are likely.
