To the editor:
Milton is in desperate need of leadership to steer it in the right direction and save Milton from itself. We may not all agree on where and how to improve Milton, but by looking back at the failed attempts by previous Selectmen, we need to put our faith and hope that new future leader(s) will emerge for Milton.
The Town Budget is set by the Budget Committee. The general operation of the Town is under the jurisdiction of the Selectmen. These two Boards are critical to the solvency and fiscal responsibility of the Town.
Past fails are no longer acceptable. We need to elect members who are fiscally responsible and care about Milton. The lack of a vibrant downtown, coupled with slow economic growth has placed the tax burden on the shoulders of the homeowners.
Milton is desperate for someone to take the helm and help steer it back on track. With new leadership the Board of Selectmen will be able to give some much needed direction. We need to elect people that are responsible and in tune with the needs of Milton. People who are trustworthy, reliable, honest and have the insight to move Milton forward.
We cannot continue down this path. Without positive change Milton is doomed to repeat the past. I urge Milton Voters to voice their concerns at the upcoming election and vote for Matt Morrill as Selectman.
Trust is nothing without proof. And sorry is nothing without change. Actions speak louder than words. It's up to the voters of Milton to decide. Take the time to vote.
Your voice matters. Some positions have been decided by a single vote in recent years. Voting is Tuesday March 10th 8 AM to 7 PM at The Restoration Church, 370 White Mountain Highway.
