CONCORD, N.H. - Space is still available in a course for women who want to learn how to get started hunting ducks and geese. The N.H. Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Program (BOW) presents "Duck, Duck, Goose: An introduction to Waterfowl Hunting," on August 12, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Owl Brook Hunter Education Center, Holderness, N.H.
The workshop fee of $55 is due with registration and includes instruction, program materials, use of some equipment, and lunch. A hunting license is not required during scheduled class time.
To sign up, go to www.nhbow.com, where you will be directed to the event registration page. After registering online, print, fill out, and mail in all the forms with payment, which must be received by July 28, 2017.
Taught by BOW and Hunter Education instructors, this workshop will cover duck biology, basic hunting techniques, essential gear, and staying safe when enjoying this popular outdoor pursuit. Even if you don't have a duck boat or decoys, you can still get out and have a successful waterfowl hunt.
"Beyond BOW" workshops are in-depth sessions designed to expand on the offerings of the traditional Becoming an Outdoors-Woman programs, helping women gain the skills needed to participate in outdoor activities on their own.
The New Hampshire Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program is co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (www.wildnh.com) and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation (www.nhwf.org).
