ROCHESTER - Warren L. Libby, 87, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 21, 1937 in Skowhegan, Maine, Warren was the son of Leroy and Josephine (Knowles) Libby.

Though born in Maine, Warren made his way to the Rochester area with his family at a young age. He attended Spaulding High School before joining the Air Force. There, he served honorably until his 20-year retirement in 1975 as a Tech Sergeant. Following his time in the service, Warren held jobs at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard, Thompson Center Arms, and most recently, Iron Mountain in Milton, NH.

When away from work, Warren adored gardening and taking care of his beloved birds.

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Richard Libby.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years, Beatrice (Couture) Libby; children, Arleen Harty of Dover, Bonnie Newton and husband, Clifford, of Rochester, Bruce Libby of Rochester, Michael Libby and wife, Jennifer, of Rochester, and Daniel Libby and wife, Meghan, of Somersworth; sisters, Mary Barney of Florida and Fern Pope of Florida; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
