COPYRIGHT2017© LEBANON - Maine State Police will be joined by the Warden's Service today as they continue the search for a Lebanon man accused in a domestic violence assault who may be hiding in woods near where he abandoned his pickup.

Dale Godfrey, 52, fled from a residence at 167 Sam Wentworth Road Wednesday around 4 a.m. following the alleged assault; his truck was found a few miles away.

Maine State Police Trooper Kyle Wells said on Thursday a K9 unit was brought in shortly after the truck was discovered, however the scent went cold.

Wells said Godfrey has no friends or relatives in the area and could very likely still be in town.

State Police have also given particulars on the case to New Hampshire authorities due to its close proximity.

Wells said the victim in the case had been released with what were described as minor injuries.
