Voters have options as GOP June primary nears

LEBANON - Registered Lebanon voters who wish to have their voice heard during GOP primary voting for the new Maine House 20 Seat in June must be registered as Republicans at least 15 days prior to Election Day unless they are currently Unenrolled, in which case they can sign in as a Republican at the polls on Election Day.

The new Maine House 20 seat comprises Lebanon, Acton and a western portion of Shapleigh.

The former districting map had East Lebanon represented by House 144, while House 145 represented West Lebanon.

If a voters registers as a Republican for the vote, they must remain registered as a Republican for at least three months, according to Lebanon Town Clerk Laura Bragg.

So far three Republican candidates – Ted Kryzak of Acton, Karen Gerrish of Lebanon and Harrison Thorp of Lebanon – have entered the race. Thorp is the editor and owner of The Lebanon Voice.

Bettie Harris-Howard of Lebanon has announced her intention to run for the House 20 seat as a Democrat.

The vote will take place along with town elections and warrant article voting on Tuesday, June 10.
