ROCHESTER - Virginia Govey, 99, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2025. Her family was gathered by her side, at home, as she wished.

She was born March 18, 1925, in Rochester, the daughter of Arthur and Dorcas (Boston) Bickford. She was especially close to her deceased sister Alice, and together they shared many common friends and life blessings.

Virginia had three siblings: Alice Boulette of Rochester. Stephen Bickford of Newmarket, and Violet Randall of Georgia, all predeceased.

"Ginny's" vocational life included years in the shoe industry at Hubbard's and Mayberry's. Her last 25 years of employment were at the Salvation Army Store in Rochester where she formed many lasting friendships. At Ginny's passing, she was the oldest member of True Memorial Baptist Church, having joined the church in 1934. Virginia demonstrated her faith in Jesus Christ by her spirit of generosity and kind deeds.

Ginny's children include Charles F. Govey (deceased) and his wife Kay of Hooksett, John l. Govey (deceased) of Nashua, Virginia L. (Govey) Finn-Fougeray of Rhode Island, and Michael D. Govey of Rochester and his wife Pamela. Grandchildren include Stephanie (Finn) Noresca and husband, Michelet of Rhode Island, Jennifer (Finn) Brnada and husband Anto of Massachusetts, Peter M. Govey and wife Paula of Pennsylvania, Johannah (Govey) Timbario of Pennsylvania, Chuck Litchfield and wife Debbie of Florida, Rodney Litchfield of Rochester, Scott Litchfield and wife Karen of Rochester, Michael Elliot of Pelham, Rachel Graham and husband Robert of Hooksett, Jeanne Govey of Hooksett. Great grandchildren include Rachael Finn and fiancé Alex Fortin, Mitchell, Stephanie, and Michayla Noresca, Hazel Timbario, Benjamin and Joshua Govey, Duncan and Brandan Brnada. Virginia also had two dear nephews Keith Bickford and wife Mary, and Glenn Bickford.
