Victim Medflighted after Rochester hit-and-run

ROCHESTER - Police are on the lookout for a dark-colored, full-size pickup truck with a missing side-view mirror after its driver fled the scene of a pedestrian accident Tuesday on Route 11.

A 44-year-old man was struck as he was walking on the paved shoulder of the road near the grassline around 6:45 p.m. across from Hagan’s Motor Pool just before the Rochester/Farmington line.

When emergency responders arrived the man was lying in the grassy area just off the roadway off the northbound travel lane. Witnesses said the truck was headed north when the accident occurred.

The victim was Medflighted to Maine Medical Center with what are described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

A side view mirror was found at the accident scene. The truck may have other damage to the front passenger side, police said.
