ROCHESTER - A vacant Rochester home was destroyed in an early morning fire today.
Fire crews got the call around 1:25 a.m. for a house on fire at 30 Hansonville Road.
"When the first arriving company got on scene it was fully involved," Rochester Fire Deputy Chief Tim Wilder said today. "It became a defensive attack. We kept crews outside, and placed lines around the outside of the building."
The 30- by 50-foot one-story ranch and two-car attached garage sustained structural collapse and went up quickly in the first-alarm fire.
Firefighters from Durham, Dover and Barrington assisted at the scene.
