ROCHESTER - The preliminary cause of Thursday's fire that destroyed six condo-style residences at Dustin Homestead is thought to be electrical, Rochester Fire Chief Norm Sanborn said today.
The fast-moving blaze went to three alarms soon after firefighters arrived on scene after getting the call around 9 p.m.
Sanborn said the fire began on the second floor of 32 Dustin Homestead and spread quickly through the single structure that housed the six units due to a lack of hydrants in the area. The closest was a mile away, Sanborn said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
Milton, Farmington, Alton, Middleton, Strafford, Durham, Dover, Barrington, as well as Lebanon and Eliot provided mutual aid.
