HAMPTON BEACH - An event spawned on social media led to a large, unruly crowd descending on Hampton Beach leading to 10 arrests that could result in felony riot charges, police say.
The crowd formed on the beach where police told them to disperse. The group then moved to Ocean Boulevard where they blocked traffic for about an hour, according to safety officials.
Those arrested face charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and resisting arrest as well as felony riot.
Officers from several agencies wearing riot gear joined Hampton Beach Police after multiple fights were reported around 6:30 p.m.
