ROCHESTER - A man who allegedly supplied a fatal dose of fentanyl to an overdose victim in June was arrested on Sunday after a city footchase ended with his capture on Sheridan Avenue
Ryan P. Kirk, 27, a transient, was charged with dispensing a controlled drug with death resulting, a Class A felony, and resisting arrest.
The charges spawned from an investigation into the circumstances of an overdose that occurred on June 24 at the Northgate Apartment complex on Farmington Road in Rochester. During the investigation it was determined that the death occurred from a lethal dose of fentanyl, and it is alleged that Kirk supplied the drug to the victim.
A warrant had been issued since Sept 28, with Rochester police actively seeking Kirk.
On Sunday police got the break they needed, receiving information from the public about some drug dealing in the city. Officers located Kirk coming out of a home on Charles Street where an attempt to take him into custody failed when he ran away from the scene.
However, a short foot pursuit onto Sheridan Avenue yielded Kirk's apprehension. He is being held at Strafford County Jail on no bail pending a court date on Tuesday in Strafford County Superior Court.
