AUBURN, Maine - A tractor trailer unit erupted into flames while being towed early this morning in Auburn.
State Police got involved around 3:45 a.m. as they responded to mile marker 75 on the Maine Turnpike northbound where they found that a tire on a 2018 Kenworth had caught fire while being towed.
The flaming tire caused the entire Kenworth to erupt into flames.
The tow truck sustained no damage.
No injuries were reported.
The Kenworth was totaled.
