Breakfast at Hen House fills the plate pretty good (Rochester Voice)

LEBANON, Maine - The Hen House in Lebanon has become a breakfast and lunchtime institution for Lebanon residents and a pleasant surprise for summer vacationers and truckers who get hungry while plying busy Route 202 between Sanford and Rochester, N.H.
The eatery has been a staple for almost eight years now at its location at 1001 Carl Broggi Highway.
I stopped in for breakfast on Tuesday after having a couple of errands to do in Sanford, and were we glad we did.
I had one of their breakfast specials: two eggs, two sausage patties, hash browns and a side of apple-walnut topped waffle wedges with whipped cream.
Being gluten free I couldn't get the waffle wedges, but they let me get a gluten-free cranberry nut muffin instead, which was amazing!
When the waitress brought my order out, I was positively stunned by the pleasant optics, with the hash browns practically over spilling the plate.
The hash browns, by the way, were delicious and the sausage patties were large and flavorful.
Truly a farmer's breakfast size ... for $12.99. I brought home half the meal and ate it for breakfast this morning.

The Hen House is only about five minutes from East Rochester on Route 202.
I'd check it out. Friendly atmosphere. Cute little place.
