Suspects who fled school bus crash nabbed in Limington

LIMINGTON, Maine - The two suspects who fled the scene after crashing into a school bus a week ago were arrested on Wednesday in Limington.

A search warrant was executed around 9 p.m. at 361 Sokokis Avenue in Limington for the two males that fled on foot from the June 14 crash on Sokokis Avenue after the vehicle they were driving struck a bus loaded with schoolchildren. The two males were identified as 33-year-old Robert Hargis and his brother, 30-year-old Patrick, both of Hiram.

Maine State Troopers had developed information that the brothers were staying at the Sokokis Avenue address, and after a K9 search of the property, the brothers were located hiding inside a wall in an upstairs bedroom. They were both taken into custody without incident and transported to the York County Jail.

Robert Hargis had nine active arrest warrants, and Patrick Hargas had one and was also on probation.

Patrick Hargis was charged with felony reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, operating after suspension, operating with suspended registration, leaving the scene of an accident and three counts of Violating conditions of release.

No info on Robert Hargis' charges was released.
