ROCHESTER - Lend Me A Theater will open George Brant's production of "Into The Breeches!," a heartwarming dramedy that will begin a two-weekend run tomorrow at the Rochester Performance & Arts Center located at 32 North Main St. in downtown Rochester.

"Into The Breeches!" is a 2018 play set in 1942. With Concord's Oberon Play House's director and leading men away at war, the director's wife takes the bold step of producing an all-female version of Shakespeare's "Henriad." Assembling a diverse and unexpected team, the women come together in a touching and humorous exploration of collaboration and determination, proving that the show must go on.

Described as "a surprisingly modern and moving comedy about the singular way art and community reveal our boldest selves even in the darkest times," the play highlights the wartime efforts on the home front and addresses social issues that remain relevant today.

In Shakespearean scholarship, the Henriad refers to a group of William Shakespeare's history plays depicting the rise of the English kings. It is sometimes used to refer to a group of four plays, but some sources and scholars use the term to refer to eight plays.

Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays on May 31, June 1, June 7, and June 8 at 7:30 p.m, with a special Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on June 9.
