MILTON MILLS - The summer kickoff party was a tremendous success and we're appreciative of everyone who came out and enjoyed bubbles, chalk art, free books, ice pops, popcorn, games and our duck pond. It was wonderful to see everyone.
Upcoming July events are our Children's Story Times on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. Thursday Story Times will be followed by a craft with Ms. Kayla. On Saturday, July 27 we will be hosting a Tie Dye Extravaganza here at Milton Free Public Library from 10:30am-12:30pm. Materials for both events are free and will be provided. All ages welcome with adult supervision. Come paint a mural on the children's room windows at Nute Library and make your own tie dye shirt or bag at Milton Free Public Library!
Last but not least, we have a 2024 summer reading program for our adults and teens. To encourage all our patrons, young and old to visit our library, Milton Free Public Library will be giving a raffle ticket per collection item returned through September 1. If you return your library materials during library hours, we will provide you with one raffle ticket per item. Each raffle ticket can then be placed into the raffle jar of your choice. Each raffle jar is worth a $25 gift certificate to 1 of 8 local businesses.
We want to show our support of our small businesses and encourage library visits this summer. The businesses available in the raffle this year are the Branch Hill Farm Stand, Bucky's Restaurant, Ira Miller's General Store, Lakeside Thai Restaurant, McKenzie Farm, Milton Hardware, Music Mill, and Pizza Nook. The summer reading theme is "Adventure Begins at Your Library" and in keeping with the adventure theme, we have a recommended reading list of adult and young adult books that when checked out and returned will be worth TWO raffle tickets each. Any other item returned can be exchanged for ONE raffle ticket. We will draw the winners after Labor Day, Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Please don't hesitate to call or email with any questions. We're here to help!
