Rochester is one of six New England cities found to be among the 10 least diverse in the nation, according to a report released today from WalletHub.
Rochester was found to be the 495th least diverse city among 500 cities across the country.
Other New England cities found among the least diverse - all situated in Northern New England - include Saco, Maine (tied with Huntington, W.V.) at 491, Keene at 496, Barre, Vt., at 497, Bangor, Maine, at 498, and Brattleboro, Vt., at 500. The least diverse was found to be Provo, Ut. at 501.
To determine the places in the U.S. with the most mixed demographics, WalletHub compared the profiles of more than 500 of the largest cities across five major diversity categories: socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household and religious.
Rochester Mayor Caroline McCarley was not immediately available to comment on the story.

- Thornton, Colorado, has the highest industry diversity, which is 2.8 times higher than in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the city with the lowest.
- Caldwell, Idaho, has the highest occupational diversity, which is three times higher than in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the city with the lowest.
