DOVER - A recent Covid outbreak continues to dog Riverside Rest Home infecting a growing number of both residents and staff.
According to signage posted at the facility's lobby on Tuesday, 22 residents, all living in one unit, and 16 rest home employees have tested positive for the virus.
The patients in the affected unit are mask-on, and the rest home workers affected are isolating at home.
According to a memo written by Riverside Rest Home Infection Preventionist Chris Hamilton last week, the unit most affected by the outbreak is on Covid protocols, and "traffic to the unit should be avoided unless necessary."
Hamilton also urged staff to be "hypervigilant towards both the development of new symptoms among themselves and also towards any new signs/symptoms that are consistent with Covid among residents throughout the facility."
The memo also urged employees and family members not to come to Riverside if they are experiencing any respiratory symptoms.
Assistant Administrator Dee Brown said most of the residents that have tested positive for Covid are experiencing little or no symptoms.
