CONCORD - The Secretary of State's Office today announced an exciting opportunity for high school students in New Hampshire: a contest for the best background music to use in the Secretary of State's upcoming "Stories of Service" podcast series.

Scheduled to launch in May, the "Stories of Service" podcast series will focus on New Hampshire's First-in-the-Nation Presidential Primary and America's 250th celebration. It will also provide an inside look into the Secretary of State's Office, focusing on the staff who serve the people of New Hampshire.

To find the perfect music to ground the introduction and conclusion of the podcast, the Secretary of State's Office is hosting a contest for all high school students in New Hampshire. Students are invited to submit original musical compositions that encompass the themes of the podcast.

Submissions must be 30-60 seconds in length and either MP3 or WAVE format. All entries must be sent to Lily Woo, Civic and Voter Education Coordinator, at Lily.Woo@sos.nh.gov by April 25, 2025, to be considered.

Woo urged young people to come up with the most inspiring music that will complement the podcast's theme. "This contest is a unique civic opportunity for high school music students to contribute an important piece to the "Stories of Service" podcast" she said. "Young students have the talent and skills to ground this podcast in a way that showcases their creativity to the benefit of us all."
