ROCHESTER - It's still not clear to police what led to an early morning disturbance a week ago on Forest Avenue and in nearby Lebanon, Maine.
Shortly after midnight on the morning of July 22 Rochester Police officers responded to the area of Flat Rock Bridge Road for a report that a male was punching windows and pounding on doors to residences.
Officers located the male on the roof of a residential porch on Forest Avenue and spoke with the man, identified him as Christopher Brisborn, Rochester Police Public Information Officer Andrew Swanberry told The Rochester Voice on Friday.
Swanberry said Brisborn had been yelling that someone was trying to kill him, but we "learned that was not accurate and nobody was following or attempting to harm him."
Ultimately, a crew from Rochester Fire came out and lent police one of their ladders to help get Brisborn off the roof and onto the ground, where he struggled briefly with police before being taken into custody.
Swanberry said much of the conduct took place across the border in Lebanon, Maine, and he didn't want to comment on what may have happened in a different jurisdiction.
Brisborn, 44, of 170 Amherst St., Manchester, was arrested by Rochester Police for disorderly conduct, two counts of resisting arrest/detention and criminal trespass. He was temporarily held on preventative detention.
Personnel at Strafford County Jail said today he has since been released.
Dispatch notes indicated that Sanford Police had interaction with Brisborn on July 21, but police there said it was the York County Sheriff's Office, who did not return a phone call to The Voice on Friday.
