Snow appears to be on wane, but sleet, ice, heavy winds still in store

The snow portion of this weekend's storm seems to have passed to the north and east, but the Northern Seacoast isn't out of the woods yet, with sleet, freezing rain and ice possible throughout today.
About four inches of heavy, wet snow piled up in the Rochester area, but as of this posting the precipitation has now gone over to sleet and freezing rain.
Most folks in and around Rochester seem to be hunkering down and not venturing out on the roads like in some previous storms.
Rochester Police indicate no reported accidents as of 11 a.m. today, but some of the more treacherous driving could be later in the day and evening due to freezing rain making for icy roads.

Meanwhile, Rochester Rec canceled all their Sunday activities, including Skate with a First Responder and a hockey game between police and fire and Spaulding High alumni that had been scheduled this afternoon at Rochester Arena.
As the skies finally clear early Monday morning winds are expected to pick up while wind chills will drop well below 0. By 6 a.m. gusts could be around 30 mph and by midafternoon, 52 mph, enough to cause scattered and even widespread power outages.
They'll die down late in the evening but remain breezy for the early morning hours on Tuesday as the frigid air lingers well into the week.
