CONCORD - Police are looking at a potential self-defense claim in the fatal shooting of a man on Saturday in Concord.
According to the state's Medical Examiners Office, the victim died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. The state's Medical Examiner's Office also determined the manner of death was homicide, which means he was killed by another.
Terrance Wigglesworth, 28, no hometown given, was pronounced dead at 46 Warren St. in Concord soon after police were called to a fourth-floor apartment around 11:30 a.m., first for a disturbance call and moments later for shots fired.
Upon arrival, police discovered Wigglesworth suffering from a gunshot wound. He received immediate medical treatment, but was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain actively under investigation, including the potential of a self-defense claim.
