Seacoast hospitals down to 6.7% availability for ICU beds as COVID surge continues

CONCORD - Seascoast hospitals continue in a precarious position today with just 6.7 availability in staffed adult ICU beds as a late summer COVID surge continues.

Meanwhile Rochester School's active COVID case count is currently at just two, with one case each at the Rochester Middle School and Gonic Elementary School.

The seven-day community level transmission rate stands at 7.0 percent today, 3 percent below the threshold that would dictate the school board's input on whether to modify inschool learning as currently in place.

While staffed ICU beds are in short supply, Seacoast hospitals are well stocked with ventilators with 83.5 percent availability.

Seacoast hospitals comprise Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Wentworth Douglass Hospital, Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Huggins Hospital and Exeter Hospital.

Current hospitalizations statewide include 141 COVID cases.

Current active case counts for Rochester is 70, Rochester Fire and Emergency Operations Chief Mark Klose said today.

Statewide, DHHS announced 227 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Tuesday, including almost half that were minors and 46 of whom were from Strafford County.

There are now 3,519 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. DHHS has also announced four additional deaths related to COVID-19, all over 60.
