Shopping on the last Saturday before Christmas just got a little more challenging.
The first plowable and shovelable snow of the season hits the Greater Rochester area tomorrow with four to eight inches of the white stuff predicted.
The storm is expected to begin shortly after noon with temps right at the freezing mark, and continue on and off till late Sunday morning. Snow could be heavy at times, according to Accuweather forecasters.
The weather system is a continuation of storms earlier this week that triggered fierce winds, with some topping 100 mph, as well as tornadoes in the Central States.
While no tornadoes are anticipated, the oncoming cold front will bring some blustery conditions today.
Ice and freezing rain is predicted for areas south of Rochester and along the coast.
Safety officials are warning motorists to be extra vigilant as this will be the first challenging driving event of the season.
