The New Hampshire School Administrators Association announced on Wednesday that Angel Littlefield, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at SAU 45 in Moultonborough, as its selection for the 2025 Outstanding Service Award.
The award is given to an outstanding New Hampshire school system leader who is not a Superintendent of Schools. The recognized individual works to improve district educational programs and/or services, contributes to workplace climate and high morale, anticipates emerging problems and acts to resolve them, and demonstrates professional growth and involvement.
SAU 45 Superintendent Patrick Andrew nominated Littlefield.
"Angel has a remarkable depth of knows about all things curricular," Superintendent Andrew wrote. "She jumped into work here in SAU 45 leading our 'Portrait of a Learner' committee with great success. She has actively recruited input from the broader community and worked with a wide range of stakeholders in the process. She has also done a wonderful job addressing some of our shortfalls in math achievement by working closely with our teachers and math specialists."
Littlefield taught English at Bow High School and served as an Academic Coordinator in the Laconia School District. She worked as Director of Curriculum in the Mascoma School District for three years, joining SAU 45 last July.
Littlefield is active in statewide education issues. She is a member of the NHSAA's Executive Board and serves on its Professional Development Committee. She also is a member of the Executive Board of the New Hampshire Excellence in Education program. In this role she chairs the High School of the Year selection committee, and co-chairs the annual EDies event that showcases the best of education statewide. She also plays an active role in the New Hampshire Learning Initiative.
Andrew's nomination was supported by many of Littlefield's professional colleagues.
"Angel is a strong instructional leader who organizes and facilitates high-quality professional development for teachers and paraprofessionals," wrote Mascoma Superintendent Amanda Isabelle. "Angel has transformed the climate and culture of our faculty to eager and positive."
"At the core of Angel's educational philosophy is a deep respect and belief in the worth of each individual, evident in everything from her high school teaching to her ongoing work with adults. She maintains high standards because she genuinely cares about preparing people for their future challenges," wrote Jacqueline Coe, Superintendent of SAU 24.
Littlefield will be recognized at the annual NHSAA conference in Whitefield in June.

She is an incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, caring, innovative, and selfless education leader who sincerely deserves recognition and praise," said Mark MacLean, NHSAA Executive Director.
