LITTLETON - A Littleton resident died Saturday morning in a fire at a residential structure at 12 Hilltop Manner Extension.
Police and fire responded to the blaze around 9:40 a.m. and found that it had self-extinguished. Inside the residence they found one person dead, according to a statement from the Dept. of Safety.
The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing by the State Fire Marshal's Office, Littleton Fire Department and the Littleton Police Department.
Positive identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of their death is pending an autopsy that was scheduled for Saturday.
