SANFORD - Sanford police reported today that a Sanford man has been arrested in the motor vehicle death of a Wells woman in August.
Cody Michaud, 32, was arrested on Nov. 18 on charges of operating under the influence involving death, manslaughter and violation of bail.
He is being held at York County Jail on no bail.
The fatal crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 8 on Country Club Road (Route 4) when Ann Sinclair, 32, was headed west in a Scion XA SUV and was struck head-on by a Jeep Wrangler driven by Michaud, police say. Sinclair was pronounced dead at the scene.
A joint investigation between the Sanford Police Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division, accident reconstructionists from York Police and Maine Warden Service led to warrants being issued for Michaud.
