ROCHESTER - Rochester elementary school teacher Jennifer Brock has published a children's book with hopes of alleviating school age children of the anxiety associated with wearing masks in the classroom.
Amazing Masks is a playful story featuring a whimsical character named Peanut. The book celebrates masks around our communities, our world and in nature with the worthwhile goal of easing children's anxieties about wearing masks as they return to school and navigate through daily life filled with new routines.
Written by Brock and illustrated by Massachusetts artist Jason Cheeseman-Meyer, Amazing Masks is in the final stages of production with an expected release date of Aug. 10. "My hope is to ease the anxiety of children as they return to the classroom," said Brock, who teaches at William Allen School. "There is a real emotional need for a book like this and I hope it miraculously finds its way into every classroom in America."
The book is being published by Civin Media Relations which specializes in books to provide a voice for those with differences.
