Rochester PD cruiser accident will be investigated by State Police

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police confirmed today that Sunday's accident involving a Rochester Police cruiser will be investigated by State Police and that Rochester Police would have no comment on any investigation or particulars of the crash.

The accident occurred a little before 11 a.m. at the corner of Portland Street and Columbus Avenue.

During the on-scene investigation traffic was rerouted around the intersection.

It was not clear if there had been a hospital transport, however an ambulance was spotted at the scene.

It did appear that at least some of the airbags in the cruiser deployed.
