ROCHESTER - The city's tax rate has been set $27.47 per $1,000 assessed property, about a $1.11 over last year's mil rate, a 4.2 percent increase overall.
The city's general budget was set at $9.23, while the schools budget was set at $12.70. Both increases reflect an approximately 4 percent hike.
A net drop in Rochester property values contributed to the tax increase.
Meanwhile, the state education tax rate hiked to $2.60, while the new county tax rate is $2.94, an 8-cent increase.
