DOVER, N.H. - Dover Police arrested two suspected drug dealers early today after learning of a possible drug transaction was to have taken place on Silver Street in the city of Dover.
Acting on a tip, police stopped a car just after midnight and say they found the passenger, Betsy A. Elliott 21, who said she was homeless, in possession of a quantity of powdered type narcotics, cash, a digital scale, and a hypodermic needle.
The driver, Michael S. Mendoza, 32, of Rochester, was found in possession of a quantity of cash, according to a Dover Police press release issued this afternoon.
Both were arrested at the scene on a single count of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.
Mendoza refused bail and was held on a parole violation pending his arraignment.
Elliott was released on personal recognizance and has a pending arraignment next month in the Seventh Circuit Dover District Court.
