TILTON - Some high-end socks are headed to some of New Hampshire's high-value veterans, thanks to a donation from the Rochester Elks Lodge.
On Saturday representatives from Rochester, Elks Lodge #1393 traveled to the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton to donate 275 pairs of Bombas socks to the residents. They were donated to the Rochester Elks Lodge 1393 through a partnership with the New Hampshire State Elks Association State Major Project and Copper Cannon Camp, a summer camp for underprivileged children located in Bethlehem.
Bombas socks are highly regarded, known for their proprietary Honeycomb Arch Support System. The technology cradles the arch of your foot for a snug, yet comfortable fit. It also helps to prevent socks from losing shape after a few wears and washes.
Every pair of Bombas socks also has a seamless toe and a Y-stitched heel, which creates a natural cup around the heel to prevent slippage.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has made more than $14 billion in donations since it first started 156 years ago.
Last year alone, the Elks donated approximately $499 million in cash, non-cash items, mileage and volunteer hours to make their communities better places to live.
New Hampshire has 13 Elks Lodges with over 8,200 members. There are more than 1,800 Elks Lodges across the country with a total membership over 800,000. Elks' members must be American citizens who are at least 21 years of age and must believe in God.
