Robert "Bob" April, 60, died after a brief illness on July 3, 2023, while watching his favorite movie, surrounded by family.

Born June 17, 1963, Bob grew up in Somersworth and was the son of Ernest and Therese April.

Bob walked his soulmate, Darla, down the aisle for the first time, when celebrating their first communion in grade school. They started dating at 14 years old and later married in 1984, remaining inseparable always. Graduating from Somersworth High School in 1981, Bob started working at Brazonics Division of Adams/ Russell where he befriended his future business partner Mike Costello. In 1993, the pair founded C/A Design, which they owned and operated until 2016. Bob met his goal to retire early in order to spend time with his family and friends.

Having a multitude of hobbies, Bob most enjoyed Bee Keeping, boating, hunting/fishing, wine making, traveling in his RV, and making his famous spaghetti sauce. During his retirement years, Bob and Darla would spend their winters in Florida, and their summers at home tending the garden and relaxing by the lake. They enjoyed motorcycle rides and golfing with their friends from Tavern 27. Having a close bond with his neighbors, they'd often be seen lending each other a helping hand. When he wasn't spending time at the lake, you could often find him having lunch or golfing with his best friend Don McCallion. He loved spending time with his children, and especially treasured his time with his granddaughter, Raegan. Bob and Darla spent countless evenings enjoying the peacefulness of each other's company with their beloved dogs.

Always known for his stoic demeanor, but warm and giving heart, Bob will be truly missed by all who knew him. Those closest to him were fortunate enough to be brought along on spontaneous adventures filled with both fun and laughter.

Bob is survived by his wife Darla (Roseberry) April, of 38 years, his children, Cody and Morgan April, Taryn April and Noah Lambert, granddaughter Raegan April, his parents Ernest and Therese April, siblings Cheryl McHugh, Michelle April and John Fernandez, Ronald and Debra April, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandparents and brother-in-law Michael McHugh.
