DOVER - Rita M. Joy, 100, died on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022 at Bellamy Fields in Dover. She was surrounded by her members of her loving family. Born on June 6, 1922, in Dover, Rita was the daughter of Philip and Anna (Gingras) Beaulieu.

A Dover native, Rita attended Dover High School and graduated in 1940.

In her free time, Rita enjoyed her time at Cape Neddick Beach with family and friends. She also enjoyed her hobby of making crafts, especially her beautiful lampshades. Another passion was her yearly creation of Christmas ornaments for her children and grandchildren. One of her ornaments was displayed on the White House Christmas tree.

Along with her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her loving husband Alden "Skip" Joy, granddaughter Cicely Renee Joy and daughter Lee Ann Burns.

Surviving are her children, Richard Joy and wife Candace, of Estero, Fla., Michele Joy of Dover, Melissa Young and her husband Paul of Madison, and Jennifer Harrington and her husband Steve of Manchester, 13 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
