SANBORNVILLE - Richard L. Stanley, Jr., 60, died on Tuesday Nov. 19, 2024, at his home following a lifelong struggle with alcoholism.
Born April 29, 1964, in Lowell, Mass., he was the son of the late Richard and Estelle (Vigeant) Stanley, Sr. He grew up in Chelmsford, Mass.., and graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1982. He developed long-lasting friendships in his hometown and especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the "Manning Road crew."
Richard moved to Dracut, Mass., to start his family with his first wife Michelle, then to New Hampshire where he became part-owner of Wit-Way Supply Inc. in Rochester. He loved New Hampshire and in his free time, he enjoyed fishing and boating, especially on Lake Winnipesaukee with his son, Corey. He was also fond of cooking, he was an avid reader, and getting with the times, he thoroughly enjoyed listening to Podcasts, particularly historical ones.
Richard also loved spending time with his dogs and his wife Alena swimming at Balch Lake in Wakefield. They shared many happy weekends in Wakefield, which Alena affectionately dubbed "little Canada."
Members of his family include his wife Alena Stanley of Barrington; his children Kristal VanTassel and husband Dean of Webster; Corey Stanley and wife Ashley of Center Ossipee; and Connor Stanley of Wolfeboro; his three grandchildren Raven, Wyatt and Jensen, and his sister Lisa Stanley of Rochester.
