Richard Paul Siede Jr. died Aug. 11, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.

Ric was the son of Richard Siede Sr. and Linda (Brooks) Cormier. He was born in Omaha, Neb., June 16, 1963. As a military dependent, Ric grew up all over the U.S. and in other countries such as Okinawa, Japan, and Spain. After high school, Ric joined the Navy and served from 1981-85 in places such as Beirut and Granada. He spent years working on oil rigs in Texas, his true home. At the time of his death, Rodeo, as he was called by his friends, had been employed with the Portsmouth Naval shipyard for more than 20 years. Ric was a talented mechanic and could fix anything with a motor. He could often be seen in the Somersworth area accompanied by his faithful companion, Chewbacca (Chewy). Ric was a Jr vice commander and the Surgeon of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4485. He enjoyed his work at the shipyard, his duties at the VFW and spending time with friends.

Ric is survived by his father Richard Sr of New Hampshire, children Nicholas Siede and wife Amanda of New Hampshire, and Kaitlyn Siede of Virginia. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Siede and wife Deirdre of New Hampshire, his brother Shawn Siede and wife Debra, his sisters Kimberly Cordray, and Kristina Cormier, all of Florida; his step siblings Jamie Cormier and wife Wendy, Douglas Cormier and wife Aimee, and Jennifer Cormier and wife Michelle, his granddaughter Amara, many nieces, nephews cousins, friends and his beloved dog, Chewy.

Ric was predeceased by his wife Jeana Ray Siede, his mother, Linda Cormier, his stepfather, Clifford Cormier, and his stepbrother Peter Cormier.
