ROCHESTER - Pure Prairie League, the country rock band that soared to stardom with the iconic 1972 hit, "Amie," will play one show at the Rochester Opera House next Sunday.
Much of the band has been reconfigured over the decades, but they still sound amazing.
The group found its footing in the 1970s grabbing five Top-40 LPs during the decade.
The original band comprised singer and guitarist Craig Fuller, drummer Tom McGrail and steel guitarist John David Call, all from southern Ohio.
"Amie," their most successful single, reached as high as No. 27 on the Billboard charts on April 26, 1975.
The band separated in 1988 but came back 10 years later and have continued to perform ever since.
The band's most recent line-up consists of Call, drummer Scott Thompson, keyboardist/guitarist Randy Harper, guitarist Jeff Zona and bassist Jared Camic.
They'll play the ROH next Sunday at 5 p.m.
