Recounts from municipal vote set for Saturday

ROCHESTER - The Rochester City Clerk's Office has announced that recounts for the Nov. 7 municipal election will be held on Saturday at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center in the Senior Activity Center, starting at 9 a.m.

The deadline for recount requests is Thursday at 5 p.m. Three recounts have been scheduled so far:

Ward 1 City Council - Seat A:

• Patricia Turner (345)
• Joshua Guptel (326)

Ward 4 City Council - Seat A:

• David E. Walker (409)
• Chuck Grassie (409)

Ward 6 School Board - Seat B:

• Donna R. Ellis (242)
• Kelli Allen (246)

Decisions of the City Clerk in cases of recounts shall be final; however, if any race ends with a tie vote, the process to break such tie, shall be resolved by lot in the manner the City Council has determined and held in a public forum at a Special City Council meeting tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.

The Senior Activity Center is located at 150 Wakefield St.
