ROCHESTER - Two Rochester women were arrested last Saturday after scuffling with officers responding to a noise complaint on Birch Drive.
The incident unfolded around 9:30 p.m. as police responded to a Birch Drive residence where they found a "social gathering," according to Rochester Police Support Commander and Public Information Officer Andrew Swanberry.
"While officers were addressing the matter with the property owner, Jamie Pendexter was yelling and interfered with officers' efforts to resolve the issue by attempting to block officers' movements," Swanberry told The Rochester Voice on Wednesday.
Swanberry said she also grabbed one officer by the arm, and then "shoved another officer."
While officers were detaining and handcuffing Pendexter, Jessica Pendexter knelt down by the officers, leaning over Jamie and physically interfering with the officers' ability to handcuff Jamie, Swanberry said.
Jamie Pendexter, 42, of 122 Asteria Lane, Rochester, was charged with two counts of simple assault and one count of resisting arrest.
Jessica Pendexter, 39, of 6 Birch Drive, Rochester, was charged with obstructing government administration.
All the charges are misdemeanors. The most serious charge of simple assault is punishable by up to a year in county jail.
