ROCHESTER - A Frisbie Memorial Hospital security officer who was attacked a week ago by a New Durham man has died.
Richard Semo, 64, of Farmington, sustained serious injuries early the morning of Dec. 13 when he was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by 29-year-old Tyler Thurston. Semo died on Friday, according to a police press release sent out today.
An autopsy will be conducted on Semo today to determine the exact cause of death.
He was found unresponsive following the alleged attack, which occurred around 3:20 a.m. Police say during the assault he fell hitting his head on the pavement.
He was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
As of today Thurston has been charged only with second degree assault, but he continues to be held on no bail at Strafford County Jail, jail personnel said today.
