Scene of Tuesday's incident where a vehicle became stuck in moving water

ROCHESTER - A motorist escaped injury after his car became stuck in moving water on Rochester Neck Road during Tuesday's storm.

Police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene around 3:55 a.m. for a report of a vehicle sinking into the water.

When responders arrived they found the vehicle off the side of the road in about one foot of moving water, according to a statement from the city released today. The occupant of the vehicle had gotten out of the vehicle on his own and was safe. They were assessed by EMS and released.

Officials on scene decided the vehicle would be left in place until the water receded, so it could be removed safely. Rochester Neck Road was temporarily closed.
