ROCHESTER - A Farmington man was charged with operating after suspension and reckless driving after police say he crashed his vehicle into another on Gonic Road while speeding, causing a chain reaction accident involving four cars.
The crash occurred mear Bootlegger's Footwear around 12:25 p.m. when police say Zachary Fisher, 32, was speeding in a Chevrolet Colorado pickup headed south on Gonic Road when it hit a Toyota Corolla waiting for a traffic signal at the intersection of Gonic Road and Oak Street.
The Corolla, operated by Barbara Brunault, 75, of Hiram, Maine., was pushed forward into the path of a Subaru Outback operated by Judith St. Pierre, 71, of Farmington. Her car then collided with a Lexus RX350 operated by Gary Fowler, 69, of Atkinson.
As a result of the collision Fisher and a passenger in his car as well as Brunault and a passenger in her car were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.
As a result of the collision Gonic Road was closed for a brief period of time in order for emergency workers to manage the incident.
Fisher was charged with Operating After Revocation or Suspension and Negligent Driving. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Officer Plumb of the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128.
