ROCHESTER - A pedestrian was struck on Farmington Road near the Greenwood Inn early today, but police are saying the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
The accident happened just before 4 a.m. Police found a man lying in the grassy area just over the curbing off the side of the road. He was transferred to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation. Police did not describe any specific injuries in a post on their Facebook page.
Police also did not release the man's identity, age or residence.
The driver of the vehicle, Yvonne Huntress, 55, of Rochester, was driving a 1999 Plymouth Voyager minivan, and was not injured. The minivan sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
Initial investigation revealed that the male was walking along the roadway when the vehicle struck him. The accident is still under investigation at this time, however, charges are not likely.
