Patricia H. Jackson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many died on Aug. 4, 2023, with tremendous grace and a smile that warmed every room she entered. Known by all for her adventurous nature she was a "thoroughly modern Millie". She was 89.
Patsy was born in Rochester, on Dec. 13, 1933. She attended Somersworth schools and one year of college at UNH . She was predeceased by her parents Mildred Evangeline (Dow) Horne, Herman Julian Horne and brothers David, Peter, Robert and sister Pam (Marrapese).
Patsy shared an early passion for working on hot rods and boats in her teen years with her brother David
and her future husband of 70 years, Dick. She obtained a pilot's license and together with Dick they teamed to build antique aircraft that they flew across the country to air meets, developing hundreds of long lasting friendships along the way.
Patsy enjoyed sailing along the coast of Maine and eastern United States. She was happiest creating delicious meals and hosting big family and friend dinners at their home in Rochester and summer house in South Bristol Maine. During one summer she served as on-board chef cruising the coast on charters the family offered on their schooner Mistral.
Patsy and Dick enjoyed trips to their close friends in Louisiana for crawfish boils with their network of antique aircraft friends, a cruise to Alaska, a wedding trip to Germany and a recent adventure to Thailand.
Patsy is survived by her soul mate in life, her husband Dick and her children, son Alan "Hank" and his wife Mary Ellen and daughter Lynne and her husband Tom DeBruin, grandchildren Ian and wife Jennifer, Tyler and wife Rebekah, and Adam and his wife Sarah, great-grandchildren Chloe, Arianna, Miakoda, Piper and Olin, many nieces and nephews.
